Was meant to compleatly replace flint locks due to how slow the loading spead was compared to the newer mechinism. Which also led to new ways fire arms could be made and fired. Also got more used because of how the duel hammer lock could use percussian caps too.

A few years later in 1841 a Purrasian man Jonann Von Dyrese created the firing pin that would hit the back of a bullet and cause a chain reaction that would shoot a projectile

    Dr. Richard Gatling created the Gatling gun, which was a multi barreled mounted gun that was magizine feed, and hand cranked. The Gatling gun was used very little during the civil war due to how little mobility it had, and it jamed in early models. Even Lincoln pushed for these wepons to be used more, but never made it farther than a fort defence.

Mostly used as mounted guns during WWl then reused in WWll. In their day they where the worst thing to run into during trench warfare. At the time was the best substitue for a bolt action rifle

All ecept the Sturmewher 44/ StG 44. The StG in german meant storm rifle, usefull for storming bunkers. Another thing it was known for was being the first firearm name assult rifle in history. Which soon became a catagory of infantry wepons.
