Anne is born in Frankfurt, Germany. Her parents are Otto and Edith. She is a young jewish girl who writes about her life while hiding from the Nazis. -
Happy Birthday
For Anne's 13th birthday, she receives her diary and many other gifts from her family. She is very grateful to get so many things for her birthday because of whay is currently happening in Germany. -
Going Into Hiding
Anne and her family, along with the Van Daans, live and hide in the Secret Annex. They plan to stay there in secrecy until the war is over. -
Living in the Annex
Anne writes about the fun and the difficulties of living in a small Secret Annex with 8 other people. There are tensions between them almost everyday. They are constantly worrying about food, water, and being caught. -
Puberty
As Anne gets older, she starts going through puberty. She has her period and starts to become intersted in boys. She really likes Peter Van Daan. He is a teenage boy that is a few years older than her and is the son of the Van Daans. -
Blinded By Love
Anne doesn't understand why she can't become intimate with Peter and gets very upset with herself. She starts to think deeply about things often and she starts having nightmares. -
Growing Up
Anne expresses her feelings to Peter and to her diary about her hope for the world and the kindness of humanity. She says and believes that everyone is truly good at heart. -
Almost Caught
Everyone panics becuase burglars broke in downstairs and they thought they had been discovered. The burglars were scared away and didn't come back. -
Busted
The german police were told about the Secret Annex and everyone living in the annex were taken to concentration camps. Everyone was seperated and taken to seperate camps. Someone had betrayed them. -
Anne Frank Dies
Anne died from typhus while in a concentration camp. Her death was soon before the liberation of the concentration camp she was at. She was only 15 years old.
