    In 1836 South Australia was established as a free colony it was taken from the Southern part of NSW.

    European settlement had slowly been expanding to coastal parts in NSW but in 1847 North Australia was discovered and NSW got smaller

    In 1851 Tasmania started bringing flocks of sheep to Tasmania
    the area became Victoria in 1851 when it separated from New South Wales.

    In 1859 Queensland was created by continuing the eastern South
    Australian and NSW became smaller.
