The curious incident of the dog in the nighttime

  • Christopher's mother "dies"

    Christopher is told that his mother died. She didn't really die but this is what his father had told him.

  • Christopher finds Wellington

    Christopher finds Wellington
    Christopher walks around at 7 minutes after midnight and finds Wellington ( the dog of Mrs Shears) in her garden with a fork sticking out of its belly. Christopher picked up the dog and held it. Mrs Shears sees this and proceeds to call the police. The police arrive and question Christopher. The police man grabs Christophers arm to get him up and then Christopher hits him.
  • At the police station

    At the police station
    Christopher gets arrested for assaulting a police officer, and is taken to the police station. They take everything from his pockets and they also take his shoelaces ( he was allowed to keeps his watch because he started screaming when they took it). They put him in a cel, the cel was almost a perfect cube. Christophers father arrived at 1:12 AM and he was allowed to see Christopher at 1:28 AM. Christopher was allowed to leave but with a caution.

    Christopher is going to write a book
    Siobhan ( his counceler i presume) tells Christopher that they were supposed to be writing that day and that he could write a book about the murder of Wellington. CHristopher loves books about solving murders ( This is why The Hound of Baskerville is his favorite book)
  • Just like Sherlock Holmes

    Just like Sherlock Holmes
    Christophers is determined to find out who killed Wellington, he does some detective work to find a suspect. He makes a map of their street and decides that it would be best to question every person in that part of the street. Except for the drug people that live next to him. He meets Mrs. Alexander who tries to help him and she offers him tea. Christopher comes to the conclusion that the prime suspect is Mr Shears.

    Christophers father had a call from Mrs. Shears that Christopher had been asking around about the dog. Father makes Christopher promise a couple of things. 1. Not to mention Mr. Shears name in the house. 2. Not to ask Mrs.Shears who killed the bloody dog. 3. Not to ask anyone who killed the bloody dog. 4. Not to go and trespass into other people's gardens. 5. To give up this ridiculous game right now. Christopher promised.
  • A super good day

    A super good day
    On this day Christopher saw 5 red cars and this meant that it would be a super good day. He saw Mrs. Alexander when he went to the store and Mrs. Alexander started to talk to him. He thought this might be the special thing that should have happened today and kept talking, even though that this was hard for him to do. Mrs. Alexander told him about how his mother and Mr. Shears had an affair.

    When Christopher gets home from school father isn't home yet so Christopher watches a video. He leaves his things on the kitchen table. When father comes home he sees the book. He reads it, including everything about the detective game and the talk with Mrs. Alexander. Father is mad and gets in a fight with Christopher. Christopher has a mental black out and doesn't remember anything from that small period of time. He got some small injuries. Father threw the book away into the dust bin.

    Christopher wanted to get his book back because he liked writing and he liked doing projects. He went to the dust bin to see that his book wasn't in there anymore. He thought father had hidden it so he searched through the whole house. The last room he checked was his father's room. In an old shirt box, he found the book. He also found a lot of envelopes addressed to him. He leaves the book and grabs one of the letters.

    Christopher reads the letter. He sees that he letter is from his mom. But somethings aren't right because his mom never worked for a company that made things out of steel. And the date was from after his mother had passed.
  • The other letters

    When Christophers father gets a call that he has to go to an emergency because a cellar has flooded, Christopher decides to go and read the other letters he saw in his father's shirtbox. There were 43 letters in total but he only read a couple of them before he got sick and his brain shut off again. He starts to think normally again when his father comes home. His father cleans him up and apologizes
  • The death of Wellington

    Father tells Christopher that he wants to be honest from that point on. He tells Christopher about his mother and why he told him a lie. He also tells him that he killed Wellington. Not because he thought it was fun or anything like that but because he thought Mrs. Shears loved the dog more than she loved him.

    Christopher becomes scared of his dad after his father told him he killed Wellington.He hides in the garden and thinks about what to do. Christopher can only think of 5 things to do. 1. Stay at Mrs. Shears house 2. Live with Uncle Terry. 3. Go home. 4. Staying in the garden. 5. Or going to live with mother in London. The only option that he felt even a bit comfortable with was going to London to live with mother.
  • Go to the bloody toilet

    Go to the bloody toilet
    After a little while on the train, Christopher had wet himself a little. The policeman noticed and told him to go to the bloody toilet. After Christopher went to the toilet he started hiding on a luggage shelf. Just before the train stopped the police man searched for him but he couldn't find him so he got off the train.

    Christopher is able to find the next train he has to take with some help from stangers. Talking to them was quite hard for him and it took him about 5 hours. He also was almost hit by a train trying to save Toby( his pet rat ), who was running on the train tracks. After all of this, he finds his mother's house. But there is nobody there.
  • Going to London

    His father had just left so Christopher broke a window, grabbed his stuff including his father's credit card, and went on his way to the train station. At the train station a police man helps Christopher find his way. The police man went on with his own buisness and Christopher got on the train. Just before the train started to move the police man got on the train and told Christopher he had to take him back to his dad. Christopher started screaming and just after that the train started moving.
  • Mother

    After sitting in the garden for some time his mother comes home together with Mr.Shears. His mother is happy to see him but Mr. Shears is not. His mother finds out why Christopher never wrote back and she is quite mad. Christopher stays at the appartment for a week until mother and Christopher go back to Swindon.

    Back in Swindon
    Christopher and his mother stayed at the house for a while. But Christopher still won't stay alone with his father. Father kicks them out and they go and live in a tiny appartment. After all of this Christopher is still allowed to take his A level exam in maths even though it had beeen canceled. Father tries to apologize to Christopher but it is no use.
  • A good ending

    A good ending
    Christopher gets an A on his exam and plans to do more A level exams the next year. His father gives him a dog to say sorry. The dog has to stay with father and Christopher lives with mother. Christopher does go and visit the dog quite often. He now believes he can do anything. Because somebody who solved a crime can do everything.
