The coming months for Chicagoans as electricity aggregation moves forward, according to the City of Chicago

  • Electricity aggregation referendum passes

  • Supplier selection process begins and will last through the end of November

    The city will evaluate bids from suppliers, gather input from city residents, select a supplier and establish program rates.
  • "Opt-out" process begins for residents who don't want to be included in the electricity aggregation.

    Residents can opt-out at no cost and will be free to secure energy on their own.
  • Account enrollment begins, opt-out period ends

    Anyone who did not opt-out of the aggregation will be enrolled in the energy program that the city has selected.
  • Electricity delivered (Approximate date)

    Customers should start seeing energy savings on their ComEd bills in February
