Plessy v. Ferguson
Court case involving jim crow on how there was still segregation involved with African Americans. This was a landmark constitutional law case for the US supreme court. This was a landmark because it was under the doctrine of "separate but equal". This made Africans Americans act upon themselves more. It made the whites believe they still had won and had more power. was a start that African Americans were going to protest. -
Brown V. Board of Education
This case was about when the African Americans were fighting to be allowed to whites schools. The African Americans thought they had a right to get the same education in the same building with the whites. But at the end they agreed to let African Americans enter whites school. It was a start for the African Americans right movement, they were allowed to get the same education in the same building now. But it was very hard for African Americans to survive school, only a few made it out of school. -
Murder of Emmett Till
Emmett till was 14 when he whistled at a white lady, her husband and the brother in law brutally murdered him.It became known around the world for the fact that he was an African american kid and the lady he whistled to was white.A lot of people that that was unfair. It was not a good reason just to attack someone for their race. It got peoples attention.People started to join the movement.

Rosa Parks & The Montgomery Bus Boycott
Rosa parks was a brave women.She was tired one afternoon and got o the bus and sat on the first "colored section".She was asked by many white people and bus driver to move.Yet she didn't flinch one bit.She was not going to stand up because she believed she desired that seat for how tired she was.She was arrested that day trying to stand up for herself.Till this day everyone admires her for that.

Founding of Southern Christian Leadership Conference(SCLC) & Martin Luther King
The students tried to maker it a legacy and start a group of themselves.It was about people who believed in equality.What they did was want attention for more people,that way people will care.If people care then there is a more way that it will call upon the government and change peoples lives.They wanted freedom as well as MLK for his people they were working for it by themselves communicating.

Little Rock nine (central high school)

Joseph McNeil, Franklin McCain, Ezell Blair, Jr. and David Richmond attended a university together. Decided to build a segregation group.They knew it will call upon people and they will be supported.Those nights became their faith.They cough peoples attention at the university and it became big.They calling out to in made an impact on their life.

Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) & Freedom Summer
This was a committee made to help the African Americans. But it was a different committee, the whites were part of it. The kind of whites who wanted nothing to do with the Africans Americans. Included CORE and SNCC. Ended up with white people having hate for the African Americans in a bad harassing way.

Freedom Ride/Freedom Riders
when 7 African Americans and 6 whites left Washington D.C on to public buses to the deep south. They went to confront them about the case of when the whites had their side and the African Americans couldn't pass it. They dint want the African Americans getting to their destination so they put a bus on fire with African Americans in it. This made the African Americans mad. They had to be careful because the whites were attacking.

More than a thousand people participated in this march. A march that showed the government fighting about freedom and jobs. It was a huge impact on the movement came about. This march included many people giving speeches, and following leaders to what they believe. President John F. Kennedy was part of it as well.

John F.Kennedy was a very important to the civil rights because he was all in for it. Sense it wasn't approved when he was around President Lyndon Johnson approved it. This act said no longer could segregation be allowed in public. This made a huge impart for all the people in a good way. It really benefited the African Americans.

Assasination of Malcolm X
Malcolm X was shoot to death. Responsible for it was a plan from the Islam members while he was speaking on one of his associations. It cause a very big disappointment in the people. He was known for the brave stand up to anything kind of guy. He was the violence on fighting the African Americans rights movement. Malcolm X was one of the leaders, above with Martin L.King. -
Voting Rights Act
When president made a call for a strong voting rights law and hearings. They referred back to the 15th amendment.
which is giving the right for African American people to vote. They decided to bring it up again because if not it would be violating an amendment. It made the Africans Americans even closer to their wanting.

Assasination of MLK
MLK was assassinated during one of his speech at a march. He was killed by a single shoot who got to his face and neck. MLK left a mark on the people when he was gone. He was one of the strongest person who fought with non violence to stop colored segregation. Influenced a lot of people so they kept his legacy. MLK will always be remembered for many people because of his legacy.
