  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    This act was to stop smugglers from smuggling sugar or molasses into the colonies without being taxed.
  • The Quartering Act

    The Quartering Act
    This act was used for the protection of the British soldiers from Indians and French. It meant that if you were a colonist that you have to let any British soldier stay in your house and you must feed them and pay for them.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This act was because since the colonists were mad about sugar so the government thought it would be fair to put taxes on stamps. Also you had to have a stamp on every written document or paper.
  • The Townshend Act

    This act was formed to give soldiers more power and stop illegal stuff and smuggling. This act granted anyone of government power or any soldier the power to walk in your house or your property and search through your stuff.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    This act was to help the East Indian Tea Company become financially stable. It said that you cant legally buy tea unless it comes from thus company and gave them a monopoly.
  • The Boston Port Act

    The Boston Port Act
    This act was passed because of the tea being dumped into the harbor. It meant that no one outside of government was allowed to dock a ship into the harbor.
  • The MA Government Act

    The MA Government Act
    This act was passed because the king started to notice Britain was losing control. It said that you cant have any private meetings without a government member being there.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    This act was passed to give former French citizens more land to make more money/collect more taxes. It said that Quebec gets more territory and are under British control but they can keep there religion and ways.
