  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act was passed because Great Britain wanted people to know that Quebec belonged to them. All territories, islands, and countries that are made part of the government of Newfoundland will be made part of the province of Quebec.
  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The act said that molasses and syrup will be taxed by the king for every gallon produced. Rum and spirits that are produced in America are not to be manufactured under the rule of the king. The Parliment taxed colonists in the Form of the Sugar Act, the King hoped that smuggling would be diminished and by taxing sugar the British will be able to pay off their debt from the French andIndian War.
  • Quatering Act

    Quatering Act
    This act was passed because King George 3rd sent soldiers to protect the colonists from Frenchmen and Native Americans because they started threatening them. The act said that barracks provided by the colonists had no room for the soldiers so uninhabited houses, outhouses, barns, or other buildings, as shall be necessary for the soldiers.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    It was the first and only tax that the individual colonists had to pay themselves. All taxes should be raised, levied, collected, and paid to the king which are now the dominion of his Majesty, his heirs, and successors.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    It was passed because colonists were unhappy with British taxation. Charles Townshend agreed that internal taxes like the Stamp Act were illegal. Glass, red lead, white lead, colors, tea, and paper could'nt be smuggled into America. Officer or soldiers have the right to check homes for these smuggled goods and are allowed to dig through people's belongings.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    Passed because people were smuggling tea fro the East Indian Company, Parliment thought they could help the company tax the tea. After May 16, 1773 tea would be taxed
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    It was passed because King George 3rd realized that he was losing control of the colonists, so he passed this act to regain control. No person can purchase any cargo outside of Boston or by the shore of the bay.
  • MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act

    MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act
    Britian thought they were losing control over the conlonies, Lord Oliver North, decided to punish Massachusetts by passing the acts. It says that the colonists should be loyal for their governer, or lieutenant governer, people will be sued for murder, or other capital offences in the province Of the Massachusetts Bay.
