    Charles Darwin sets sail from Plymouth, England on the HMS Beagle on a 5-year voyage around the world.
  • First Stop: Cape Verde Islands

    First Stop: Cape Verde Islands
    The Beagle first stopped in the Cape Verde. This is where Darwin's mind sparked with idea of what he saw and decided to create a book along the voyage.
  • Salvador, Brazil

    This is where Darwin explores a dense rainforest for the first time and observes the many different animal and plant species, falls inlove with so and adds more information of them into his notes he keeps along this journey.
  • Crossing the equator

    On the first of Febuary the sailors crossed the equator, and Darwin expeceriences a thing he did not enjoy. Shaving and having below 0 degrees water on his body
  • Punta Alta, Argentinas

    This is where Darwin has discovered a large amount of Newly fossils. He makes an assumption that the fossils found are in the same family as armidilos.
  • Tierra del Fuego, Argentina: 1 year on the sea!

    Captain Robert FitzRoy sends three natives to a previous voyage to spread Christianity, this mission unfortunally fails, But this is when they also celebrate they're one year at sea.
  • Falkland Islands

    Darwin and the crew stop's on an island this time. He finds land that lacks vegetation but has an abundance of rocks. When he actually opens up a rock, he finds fossils. He comes to the concludes that the rocks and fossils indicated humans that lived there before.
  • Rio Negro, Argentina

    Darwin continues his voyage exploring a land with lowland fertile (Valleys). This is also when Darwin decides to take a break from his studies.
  • Chiloe Island, Chile

    Darwin and the crew take a while to explore the mountains while in Chili. While there Mount Osomo erupt, and an earthquake occurs. During this earthquake, the sea floor rises 9 feet! To Darwin he believe's that because the earthquake raises the sea floor this causes the island to decrease in size every time.
  • Galapagos Islands

    Galapagos Islands
    During his stop at the Galapagos Islands, Darwin discovers the many different spieces of plants and animals. He also saw several tortises and were so suprised by their gigantic sizes. This is where he achieves alot of his most famous work.
  • Sydney, Australia

    Charles Darwin questioned; "why is there different set of mammals". When Darwin lands in Australia, he wonders to himself why the marsupials are significantly different than those not on the Australian continent
  • Cocos Islands

    This is where Charles Darwin discovers coral reefs and studies marine life much deeper.
  • Mauritius

    Darwin observed and studied a sea of grass along the sea coast of Mauritius, that consisted of black lava and bushes.
  • Homecoming

    This day is when Darwin returned home.He rushed home to Shrewsbury and arrived late in the evening. So he snuck into his room for the night and in the morning gave his family a plesant surprise.
