    Extreme Islamic groups bombed multiple United State Embassies throughout Africa. Hundreds of people were killed in the attacks.
    So the U.S., in defense, launched a cruise missile strike against the training camps belonging to militant Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaida organization based in Afghanistan, those believed to be responsible for the attack. This is a picture of one of the embassies.

    On September 9th, 2001, four planes were hijacked by terrorist from Al-Qaida and used as weapons to attack sites. Two planes flew into the World Trade Center, another plane was flown into the Pentagon and the last crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. 3,000 people were killed.
