Technology in My Home

  • My first home computer

    My first home computer
I had just gotten to middle school and it became apparent that we needed a computer at home. This wasn't as easy for my mostly single mother household as it was for others. We spent many months trying to find good deals on working desktop computers. We finally found one, just in time for me to get a head start on typing skills before high school started. • My first cell phone

    My first cell phone
It was Christmas and I was in 7th grade. I was almost finished opening presents when I noticed my brother making a phone call with our house phone. I thought it was a weird time for him to make a call. Turns out, my last present was a purse with my very first cell phone in it. My brother had called the number so I could hear it ringing! • My first laptop computer

    My first laptop computer
I was moving to Huntington for school and needed my own laptop to keep up with classes. My dad took me shopping and I found the laptop of my dreams. It's a good thing it was actually a decent machine, since I bought it purely because of the flower design, lavender case and matching wireless mouse! Cool story: 2 years later I destroyed the hard drive while trying to complete the Mastering Physics program for PS 109. It took me two semesters to "master" physics! Photo from Google images
  • My first iPhone!

    My first iPhone!
All throughout high school, I had always wanted an iPhone because everyone had them. But, seeing as how I had always paid for my own cell service, I couldn't afford an iPhone on my budget. Finally when I was a sophomore in college, I was able to buy my very first iPhone! (iPhone 5) Photo from Google images
  • My first flat screen TV

    My first flat screen TV
I had never been Black Friday shopping, so when my best friend asked me to go with her family, I couldn't refuse! We ended up buying matching Smart TVs so we could watch Netflix easily. Ah, the sweet life. Photo from Google images.
  • Mom's first iPad

    Mom's first iPad
Okay so, my mom is in her 60's and has been a secretary for 35+ years. Keeping up with ever-changing technology annoys her more than most things. She was very late to the cell phone and Facebook scene. This Christmas, Santa brought her her very first iPad. She loves it, especially the pictures that it takes. Photo from Google images.
