NACW
The NACW was a reform group for black women because they wern't allowed to join the other groups and some of its members included, Ida B. Wells-Barnett, and Margret Murry Washington. -
The beggining
In the late 1800's gained more education and job opportunities. -
Education Opportunities
Woman were allowed to work as teachers and nurses and were allowed to work in businesses. -
NWSA Vs AWSA
The NWSA was focused on more than just the right to vote such as labor organizing, and the AWSA was focused on the right to vote and was backed by the republican party. -
Susan B. Anthony
The first woman to vote, illegally. She registered to vote and on election day voted, despite the law. -
Supreme Court
The Supreme Court ruled that even though women were citizens they did not have the right to vote. -
WCTU
The Womens Christian Temperance Union led the ban on acohol also known as prohibition and was headed by Frances Willard from 1879 to 1898 -
18th Amendment
Congress passed the 18 amendment in 1917 to outlaw alcohol but the amendment was so disliked that it was repealed in 1933.
