  • Diana v. California State Board of Education

    Mexican American students placed in special classes based on results of IQ test given to students. Students who primary language was Spanish when given the test which resulted in low test scores. Students would then be placed in special classes.   • Mills v. The Board of Education of the District of Columbia

    Washington, D.C. excluded children from attending public school if they were identified as mentally retarded, emotionally disturbed, learning disabled, visually impaired, hearing impaired, and physically disabled. Mills used the used the Fourteenth Amendment to show that due process was being denied. This resulted in students with disabilities the "right to education"

  • Larry P. v. Riles (California)

    Guardian of African American students v. Wilson RILES, Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of California. The School District was found to be in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975, utilized standardized intelligence tests that was racially and culturally biased.
