  • League of Nations Foundation

    The League of Nations is an international organization created by the Treaty of Versailles with a seat in Switzerland and became operational on January 10, 1920. - Mariana Mejía
  • Poland and Lithuania

    Poland and Lithuania regained their independence but there was a dissagreement about the frontiers between this countries, this tension gave airs of a possible war so the League of nations negotiated with them an agreement to decide to stop fighting for a certains time in order to find a possible solution. -Mariana Mejía
  • Aaland

    Aaland is a collection of many islands in the middle of Finland and Sweden, Finland became independent and the majority of the Aalanders want the islands became part of Sweden, the League of nations decided that the islands would continue being part of Finland but with a guaranteed protection from the islanders and this was the first European Internacional agreement concluded. -Mariana Mejía
  • Admitted Germany

    In this date Germany was admitted in the League becoming a permanent member of the council. -Mariana Mejía
  • Kellogg-Briand pact

    USA, France, Germany,Italy, Japan and United Kingdom signed the Kellogg-Briand pact, this pact was mainly giving up wars that were aggressive prohibiting war except when it is in self defense. -Mariana Mejía
  • Young Plan

    The young plan was a program established between 1929 and 1930 to resolve the problem of all the money Germany has to pay. (reduce Germany's reparations payments). -Mariana Mejía
  • Crash of the 29

    The crash of the 29 was the most catastrophic stock market crash in the history of the US stock market, countries were in a difficult situation and were focused more on their things making the league of nations to one side. -Mariana Mejía
  • Invasion from Japan to Manchuria

    Japan invaded Manchuria because thanks to the "Great Depression" (Clash of 29) there was less trade and Manchuria had a lot of raw material and Japan didn't. There was an explosion on the railway but Japan blamed China, they told the League of Nations what had happened but the League decided to start investigating the Japanese aggressions and concluded that they had acted without reason for which the league said that they had to withdraw but they resigned in 1933 and continued invading Manchuria
  • Withdrawal from germany

    The german government announced their retirement since they couldn´t have good military equipment. (despite of the "young plan" agreement it was so that the expenses they had to pay were less but the Versailles Treaty included that they were not going to allow Germany to have armed force). -Mariana Mejía
  • The soviet union becomes part of the league

    The assembly approves the council's proposal that the soviet union becomes a permanent member in the league of nations. -Mariana Mejía
  • Hoare-Laval Pact

    Italy tried to invade Abyssinia once(1896) the second time they tried to invade Italy was being led by Benito Mussolini. Abyssinia went to the league and they condemned Italy and the sanctions it imposed were economic but didn't work as well.The British foreign secretary made an agreement with French to give Mussolini a part of Abyssinia in secret, but the press noticed and everything came to light so Mussolini had to give it up. -Mariana Mejía
  • End of League of Nations

    The US Senate rejected ratification of the Versailles treaty and the League failed in its intended goal to prevent another world war from happening the idea was for the League of Nations to prevent wars through disarmament, collective security, and negotiation.
