    The Church Missionary Society and Hudson Bay Company sent John West to create a co-educational school. He was sent to the Red River Settlement. Later that year, Rev. West founded the Mission School.
  • Red River Academy growing and becoming stronger.

    In 1849, Bishop David Anderson renamed the Red River Academy. He changed it to St. John's Collegiate School. He also founded the St. John's College.
  • St. John’s Collegiate was forced to close because of many troubles in school.

    St. John’s Collegiate was forced to close because of many troubles in school.
    By 1859, due to religious tensions and the schools abandoning their appearances as independent private schools, Bishop Anderson lost the help of the Red River settlers. Because of all these reasons, Bishop Anderson was forced to close both the college and the school.
  • St. John’s College was finally built after 4 years!

    St. John’s College was finally built after 4 years!
    Around 1880, plans were arranged for the construction of a new building to be located on 4 acres of land. In 1884, this building became the home of St John’s College. The new building with its two magnificent towers appeared to become a well-known landmark in Winnipeg.

    Captain Norman Andrew Thomson Young founds Ravenscourt school.
    In 1929, Captain Norman Andrew Thomson Young founded Ravenscourt School. Captain Norman Young was a soldier in the army.
  • Ravenscourt school moves back to Thomson House.

    Ravenscourt school moves back to Thomson House.
    Ravenscourt School has to move back to Thomson House on the Fort Garry in 1934.
  • The dining room reformed into a library.

    The dining room reformed into a library.
    Thomson House dining room was transformed into a library. The library still stands today in the memorable Thomson House.
  • Dutton Arena officially opened in 1967.

    Dutton Arena officially opened in 1967.
    SJR officially opened the Dutton Arena in 1967. The biggest donator of the arena, Mervyn Red Dutton, named the arena after Joseph and Thomas Dutton both who died serving in WWII.
  • The Kiddell Building was renovated and turned into a cordial space for kids.

    The Kiddell Building was renovated and turned into a cordial space for kids.
    The Kiddell Building had many renovations to it in 1991. This building is the part of Junior School where the front office is.
  • Senior School is adjusted so the Fitness Centre can be there.

    Senior School is adjusted so the Fitness Centre can be there.
    Some area’s of Senior School is demolished in replace of the Riley Fitness Centre and different type of Senior School.
