    A Ukranian newspaper called Segodnya says that Sidney was born in Odessa on March 24, 1874 as Zigmund Markovich Rozenblum. They also say his father was a shipping agent and stockbroker called Mark.

    Sidney himself claimed he was "confined by Imperial Russian Police" while studying in Vienna. This may have been because he was a courier for the "Friends of Enlightenment" (a revolutionary group), however he was later released.

    He did so using his forged British passport. The one supposedly given to him by Major Fothergill is presumably under the name of Pedro. In Russia he travelled to Caucasus to inspect oil deposits and after doing so he sent his report to the British Government for a payment while Margaret stayed in St. Petersburg.

  • Recognized as T.W. Lewis in a hotel in Paris

    In 1908, Reilly was in Paris. Louisa Lewis, the daughter of the owner of the hotel where Reverend Thomas died, recognized the features of T.W. Andrew in Sidney at a Paris hotel. She was never seen again.
