    The first nomadic settlers crossed over the Bering Land Bridge from Asian and European countries. These people would eventually move south into what is now known as the United States and would evolve into the Native American Tribes.
  • European Settlers Establish First Colony

    European Settlers Establish First Colony
    In 1585 the Roanoke colony was established inside of what is now known as North Carolina. The Governor of the colony had to return to England due to his lack of supplies but became stuck in a war when he tried to return to the colony. After 5 years the Governer made his way back to find the people of the colony were all gone, but they left behind one word carved into a tree, The word was "CROATOAN."
  • First Successful European Colony

    First Successful European Colony
    The Jamestown colony is established and becomes the first successful colony of many from the British settlers.
  • Breaking Off From Great Britain

    In March of 1765, the King of Britain set a tax that requires a stamp on all public docs. This began protests from the colonists who felt that they should not be taxed without representation. This unrest eventually led to the Boston Massacre where 5 Boston colonists are killed by British troops. Eventually, the colonists became very angry, due to another tax that the King put on their goods and the Boston tea party happens. Finally the first continental congress is held, where they draft the DOI
  • Revolution Begins

    Revolution Begins
    The war begins with Paul Revere's ride. The first battle of Lexington and concord is fought a day after the ride. A month after the Battle the Green Mountian Boys take fort Ticonderoga. Battle of Bunker hill happens in June of 1775. The final battle of Yorktown happens in 1781 and the Treaty of Paris is signed in 1783 formally declaring the end of the war.
