  • The 3/5th Compromise

    The constitution is ratified and slaves are counted as 3/5th a person and enjoy no rights of citizenship. This effectively starts the road to the Civil War along with many other events
  • The Nebraska-Kansas Act

    The Nebraska-Kansas Act is passed allowing the settlers to decide whether to allow slavery or not. This leads to conflicts like the Bleeding Kansas incident and others that made tensions even greater making the oncoming war almost inevitable.
  • Lincoln is elected

    Lincoln is elected
    Lincoln is elected as President and the south is outraged putting more and more fuel into the fire of this growing separation of the country.
  • The Secession

    The Stewing pot of Sectionalism finally comes to a head as after the election of Lincoln the south decides to secede starting with South Carolina as they decide to only after a month into the Lincoln Presidency.
