Santiago talks with his father.
Santiago is talking with his dad about how he wants to travel the world and learn new cultures. But his dad wants him to become a priest like Santiago's parents have been preparing him for. it is here that Santiago decides that he will be a shepherd. -
Santiago is talking about his sheep and why them are important to him. He also talks about Fatima.
he says that the sheep stick around him all the time and have all their trust put into him. Santiago says that It can be hard to find food, water, and shelter for them at times but he knows he cant lose his sheep yet. Fatima is the girl that he met one time when trading, and fell in love with her. the only problem was that he was a shepherd and did not know her name. -
Santiago arrives at a town to get ready to see Fatima.
he decides to get a hair cut and fix other things too while in a town. He knows that he has to look and be his best to impress Fatima again. -
Santiago finds his gold and can now proceed home so that he can marry Fatima.
Santiago is overwhelmed with joy and excitement after completing his dream with the pyramids and can now go home and fulfill his second dream, t marry Fatima and live with her forever. -
He decides to visit some gypsies due to a reeoccuring dream he had been having.
His dream happened exactly the same every night but he would wake up before the main part. He is standing in an open plain with his sheep when, all of a sudden, a girl goes and pets the sheep which are fine with her doing that. the sheep are usual nervous towards people, but seemed to like the ;little girl. Then she would move closely to Santiago and the pyramids would sow up. Then she would say something, but he would always wake up at this part. -
The king appears by Santiagos side to help guide him to his dream.
the king tells Santiago that he needs to follow the omens and go to the pyramids for his true dream. He also supplies him with two rocks that will help him stay on the right path. -
He begins his journey and heads to Africa on a boat.
Santiago decides to go on a boat to get to the pyramids. when he arrives he knows no one and does not understand what language all the people are speaking. it is in this moment where Santiago realizes that he has many things to learn. -
A young man says that he can help Santiago to get to the prymaids, but does the exacpt opposite.
The young man says he knows where Santiago can go to travel to the pyramids for a low cost. The man leads him through a market, but Santiago finds himself distracted by a sword and allows the man a perfect escape with all of Santiago's money. -
Santiago meets the crystal merchant.
the crystal merchant offers Santiago a job to help him put. fro this point on until he makes enough money, Santiago learns may things about business and also how to stay focused on something. -
Santiago goes on in the desert and finds the Englishman.
the Englishman is very determined and is very intelligent from studying many languages of the world. wen Santiago meets him, he is currently learning alchemy and has a book on it. them are both slightly different due to the Englishman being very skeptical about omens and dreams while Santiago is all about following both of those things. -
they travel more in the desert and then find the alchemist.
they find the alchemists who proceeds to help both Santiago and the Englishman, but later in the book is by Santiago's side fro his journey. -
They arrive at a cetai part of the desert and the alchemist allows Sanitago to finsih his dream alone.
Santiago is alone to finish his dream after getting to Egypt and ;earns how to find his dream there through his experiences along his journey.
