As a child margaureit frequently bedridden with illness. She developed a great devotion to the Virgin Mary and prayed the Rosary often. She promised to join a religious order that was dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. -
Becoming a sister
At the age of 27 she joined the Visitation community in Paray-le-Monial. -
Visions
She had a vision of Jesus who showed her his Sacred Heart
for the first time, while she was contemplating upon the Blessed Sacrament. -
Caninized
Saint Margaret Mary was canonized on May 13, 1920, and her feast
reparation for the lack of r ever ence shown towar ds the Blessed Sacr a- ment. A Jesuit priest, Father Claude de la Colombiere, would help her estab- lish the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the first Friday after the octave of Corpus Christi.
