  • Revolution of 1905

    Revolution of 1905
    Was a wave of mass political and social unrest that spread through the Russian Empire. Some of the unrest was directed at the government. The Revolution started because Nicholas Tsar II decided to change the Russian Gov. from an Autocracy into a constitutional Monarchy. started on Jan. 22nd 1905, and ended on Jul. 16th 1907. This movement by the Russians was not successful. The picture is from Bloody Sunday, which was another reason why the Russian Revolution of 1905 began.
  • World War One

    World War One
    Russia entered WW1 in August of 1914 since it was to protect Serbia from Austria-Hungary. The war had a devastating effect on Russia since it weakened the Russian army, and drained Russia's money. Plus the fact that political unrest was already going on in Russia, it didn't help the cause. The effect of the war on Russia caused it to pull out early in 1917. Thousands of Russian Troops were killed due to them not being commanded correctly out on the battlefield in the midst of World War 1.

    Grigori Rasputin was a 47 year old man who had influenced Russia, and the Tsar. He befriended the family of Tsar Nicholas II. Rasputin in his 20s would end up going on a journey because of spiritual and religious reasons. He would later rise to fame in Russia.

    Was one of two revolutions that would take place in March of 1917. This revolution overthrew the imperial government of Russia, and it was successful. The second revolution would happen in November of 1917.
  • Execution of Tsar Nicholas II and his family

    Execution of Tsar Nicholas II and his family
    Tsar Nicholas II and his family were executed by Bolsheviks in n Yekaterinburg, Russia. Late on the night of July 16th, Nicholas, Alexandra, their five children and four servants were ordered to get dressed and head downstairs for a photo. However, the room they were in was entered by men, and the family + the servants were gunned down and killed. Anyone who was left breathing after the shots were fired, were stabbed to death.
