    The Start of the Russian Revolution
    The amount of job openings double within 1863-1900. Working conditions were horrendous. Many people would start revolting and protesting because of the working conditions and issues like child labor.

    After more than 200,000 workers along with their families went to the czar's Winter Palace, asking for upgraded working conditions and more personal freedoms. Generals then ordered fire among the crowd, injuring and murdering hundreds, thus came the name "Bloody Sunday".

    Russia was not prepared for the war what so ever, so when they came "poorly equipped" and lacked numbers the odds weren't in their favor. This resulted in 4 million of Russia's soldiers either killed, injured, or held as a prisoner.

    A group of factory workers who called themselves the Red Guard invaded the city of Petrograd. Here they overtook the government workers and offices one by one.

    After the Red Guards took over, Lenin divided the farmland evenly amongst the peasants and gave the factory workers the control they wanted. Then the government started thinking about starting trucing and creating peace talks with other territories and countries.

    The White Army, this group wanted the return of the czar, a more democratic government. The people in this group had one this in common, and that was to take down the Bolsheviks.

    All odds were against Russia, they lost many many lives due to hunger, fighting, a worldwide flu epidemic, resulting in almost 14 million lives lost. This didn't stop the Red Army, they took the power and ran with it.

    Stalin was first known as Bolshevik, he changed his name to Stalin for the meaning behind it --- Stalin translates to "Man of Steel" in Russian. He slowly started working his way up in government rankings from there, Stalin ended up as the general secretary of the Communist Party in 1922.

    Lenin created a smaller version of capitalism named New Economic Policy or NEP. This helped the peasants make money off their extra goods, allowed smaller businesses to operate under ownership, and investments made overseas was highly encouraged.
  • USSR

    USSR
    The start of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics otherwise known as USSR was formed. This was later changed to the Communist Party by the Bolsheviks.
