Women lead a city wide strike in Petrograd. Over the next few days riots and strikes came up due to shortage of bread and fuel. At first many of the soldiers obeyed orders to shoot but then didn't. -

Russia and Germany signed the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Russia surrendered a large amount of land to Germany and its allies. This made Russian citizens mad and angry. -

Some What New Government
Lenin set his plan aside for a state-controlled economy, instead he restored small amounts of capitalism called the New Economic Policy, it allowed farmers to keep some of their crop rather than turning it into the government. The government controlled big businesses but not a lot of the small ones. -
The End
The civil war ended and A new country was named the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. It was named that because of the people who helped the Bolshevik Revolution. It also created the Communist Party.
