    At First There Was Peace

    There were ten major clans in the country. The ten clans had a meeting between the leaders. This meeting concluded with an agreement of trade between the clans, thus creating a tentative treaty.

    Then There Was Conspiracy

    In the year 1496 two clan leaders made a secret agreement to over throw the other eight leaders in order to gain power.

    An Unexpected Move

    Caleb, one of these two conspiring clan leaders, chose to begin their plan before they were both finished with their preparation. Caleb arranged a meeting with his neighboring clan leader, Aron. On his way to the meeting he ordered a loyal and trusted guard to travel ahead of them and assassinate Aron. When he arrived Aron was head at the feet of the waiting guard and Caleb ordered him executed immediately. Caleb then offered to take it upon himself to take charge until a replacement was found.

    Tension Builds.

    Lucien, the second conspiring leader, realized what his partner had done and had decided to do this as well. He arranged a meeting with Darius, another leader, and sent an assassin ahead of him. However, Darius was on alert because of Aron's assassination and this assassin was caught and questioned. Once it was revealed what happen Darius attempted to have Lucien arrested but he managed to get back to the safety of his own people.

    Truth is Revealed

    Darius approached the other leaders with this information. Once they heard this they sent someone to request Caleb's presence since they now suspected foul play. When Caleb refused to accept the invitation, along with supporting Darius's claim of innocence the other leaders took at as an admission of guilt. This is the beginning of the alliance between the remaining seven clans.

    Start of a War

    The remaining clan leaders then decided to take action. Caleb and Lucien had made their choice by not turning themselves in to be judged by the clans and also by their apparent lack of remorse and disregard for their fellow leader's demands. And thus the remaining seven decided to march on the clans of Caleb and Lucien.

    Short War, Long Consequences

    After a few years of the clans warring, the Reigning Seven finally won against the two would be tyrants. With this victory came a long standing question though; who would lead the clans now?

    Decision Made

    The Reigning Seven decided they would choose those they deemed worthy to fill the rolls of Lucien and Caleb. However they decided that they would not chose another leader for Aron's land and clan since it had been home to most battles and devastated. Instead they chose the honor him and make his land a neutral ground for all clans and the meeting place for all leaders.

    A New Process

    After many years of clan leaders simply choosing the next person to take the position, they decided they needed to be certain that the next in line must have their peoples approval and would also be educated enough to rule. And so they put in to place requirements for the next person they would consider, they must be educated to the highest level on a scientific and economic subject. Then they must also be approved of by the public.
