  • Texas Declares Independence

    The Texas Declaration of Independence was the formal declaration of independence of the Republic of Texas from Mexico in the Texas Revolution.   • Small Invasion

    Rafael Vasquez and 500 men invaded Texas. Briefly occupied San Antiono, Texas then left.
  • San Antonio Captured

    San Antonio was captured by 1400 Mexican troops under Adrian Woll. They retreated but took prisoners.
  • The Archives War

    Officials arrived in Austin under the direction of Sam Houston to move the documents of the Texas Republic to Houston. The citizens of Austin were upset by the matters and surrounded the band led by Houston. The war was bloodless but effective and the documents were moved back to Austin the following day.
  • Texas Becomes the 28th State of the Union.

    President James Polk signed the Joint Resolution and made Texas the 28th State of the United States.
