Remake movies

  • Scarface

    Scarface
Directed by Howard Hawks and Richard Rosson this movie as about rival gangsters. The film Antonio "Tony" Camonte kills the leading crime boss of the south side and so then his boss can take over. This story of gaining power and losing control brings Tony to become the only gang leader of the city. But gets in trouble with cops. The movie was so good that it made Al Pacino want to make the same movie after seeing it. Although the remake changes quite a bit.
  • The Fly

    The Fly
Horror movies are ones that are always cliche and this science fiction horror is no different. A scientists has an accident turning him into a man sized fly. The horror comes from the jump scares of his fly face. The now humorous scripted scares and screams are just something you can never recreate and are a reason why so many of these movies were good in their days. Although the remake was able to use costume makeup and special effects to really give the whole science fiction aspect to the film
  • Ocean's Eleven

    Ocean's Eleven
  • True Grit

    True Grit
This western and title is big into every John Wayne fan and his performance got him his only academy award. Historians believe the film was based off of main character's Marshall Rooster Cogburn who brought in many criminals during his time as deputy U.S. marshal. The acting was spot on and nobody thought it would get touched for a remake but they were wrong as it turned out to have a very successful one and even better lead acting performance.
  • Scarface (Remake)

    Scarface (Remake)
Everybody knows Scarface and the famous line of “say hello to my little friend.” This remake changed how the mobsters were looked at. The movie is a remake of the 1932 film of the same name. Most people do not remember the old movie because of how good the remake was. To start this film was given negative reviews and a critical response. But as time moved on it has become a classic. Al Pacino changed the way the main character acts by making him a cocaine addicted gang lord.
  • The Fly (Remake)

    The Fly (Remake)
This science fiction horror film directed and co-written by David Cronenberg made in 1986 is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name produced and directed by Kurt Neumann was based off of the 1957 short story by George Langelaan. The remake is still the same story. The 1986 film was a top-grossing film in the United States for two weeks earning a total of 40 million dollars. Fox is considering remaking this movie once more to try and get more revenue and better special effects.
  • Beauty and the Beast

    Beauty and the Beast
This original movie of a love story between a prince turned into a beast while a girl tried to rescue her father falls in love with her captor is known by every Disney fan. One of the many Disney princesses this movie being up childhood memories for everyone who grew up with it sparking the live action to come out. Some have the feelings about the movie justifying Stockholm syndrome giving it a darker meaning but what is a story without two sides.
  • Ocean's Eleven (Remake)

    Ocean's Eleven (Remake)
  • True Grit (Remake)

    True Grit (Remake)
How do you think about True Grit and not thing John Wayne. The two are so intertwined that a remake shouldn't have been though about but this movie shocked everyone. the acting was spot on and the effects were great to not take away from the old western theme. Jeff Bridges played Rooster Cogburn, the same way as John Wayne and played it perfectly. Now the question that comes from the movie is who played him better. The original or the remake.
  • Beauty and the Beast (Live Action Remake?)

Beauty and the Beast (Live Action Remake?)
Now this may not belong in this list because of how new it is and it is a live action but in reality it is a remake. Some lines got changed around with a creative touch. But the reason I put it in this list is because of the nostalgia behind the movie. Everyone had so much of a social media hype on the film because they got excited. The movie is the same but still people find it to be a good film. Will it be better than the original? That is still the question we search to find out.
