    Pentecost
    The time around 33CE , after Jesus was crucified, the Disciples all went to a room to hide in fear of ever going outside. Suddenly, a gust of wind opened the windows and what appeared to be small tongues of fire came and rested on the heads of the Disciples. Fear was replaced with hope and courage, and the Disciples were able to speak many languages. This event was a positive shaker because the disciples were able to spread the word everyone, for they were able to speak many languages.

    St Paul the Apostle

    St Paul the Apostle
    St Paul was originally called Saul and was a prosecutor of Christians in Jerusalem. However, on the road to Damascus, he received a vision of Jesus. From that time on Saul was known as Paul. He traveled widely throughout Europe spreading the good news of Jesus. He wrote hundreds of letters which now make up part of our Bible. One of the letters he wrote was the '1 Corinthians​ 13' and was about love. St Paul positively shock the Church, because he spread the Bible and the good news to everyone.

    Emperor Nero

    Emperor Nero
    Nero was an Emperor of Rome, who was born in 54 CE and died 68 CE. Nero charged and tortured Christians for he hated their evil practices. People who confessed​ that they were Christian were first arrested, then put to death. They were covered in skins of wild animals, torn to death by dogs, crucified or set on fire. Nero was a negative shake for the Church, because he crucified the Christians. So he Christians were not able to spread their religion and the good news.

    Constantine the Emperor

    Constantine the Emperor
    In 312 CE, Constantine was about to lead his army into battle. Constantine was worried about the battle and started to pray for help. As he looked up he saw the Christian sign in the sky above the Sun. Later, he dreamt that he saw Jesus telling him to use the Christian symbol in battle. Constantine did and he won the battle. Constantine was a positive shaker because he built Churches and Christianity became favored. Christianity was allowed to be practiced,this increased the amount of followers.

    St Benedict

    St Benedict
    Saint Benedict was born around 480 CE and died March 21, 547 CE. Benedict bacame a hermit when he saw the way people acted. He created rules that were followed by monasteries. He taught monks how to read and write. The Monks preserved and copied books. Saint Benedict was a positive shaker because of the rules he created. These rules changed the way people saw the Church, and realized how the Church was suppose to act, and how they as normal people were suppose to act.

    St Columba
    Saint Columba was an Irish priest who was born circa 521 and died June the eighth 597. He became a priest circa 551.He founded churches and famous monasteries. St Columbus was an important person in the spread of Christianity because he, his associates and his successor spread the gospel more than any other group of contemporary religious pioneers in Britain​. More and more people heard the gospel because of Saint Benedict.

    The Crusades

    The Crusades
    In 1087, Turks stopped Christian pilgrims from entering Jerusalem. In 1095 Pope Urban II promised the knights that if they went on the Crusade, they will be taken straight to heaven. In 1099, Jerusalem was won back. Over the next three centuries, there were more Crusades, but all of them had failed. This event was a negative shaker because the Church was acting unjust, vicious and nothing like the vision Jesus had​. This event did not move Christianity​ forward.

    Black Death
    Black death spread through Europe and Asia from 1320’s until 1353. The Church told everyone that God had brought it upon them and that they had to commit more to the Church. This event was a negative shaker and didn't move Christianity forward because there were two reactions to the Black Death. Some people became more committed to the Church and turned to the Church for answers, whereas, some turned away and didn't believe in God. ​ Church lost its power.

    Printing Press
    Gutenberg Johaness invented the printing press in 1440. Manuscripts were produced quicker. Knowledge spread quickly, more accurately and was easily accessible for it was stored in books. Bible was translated into different languages, so people did not rely on priests to interpret the bible. This event was a positive shaker for the Church. Although church's power decreased, the people began to question the Churches methods. Consequently, the church began to question themselves.

    Protestant Reformation

    Protestant Reformation
    Pope Leo X, wanted to build a very expansive Church, called Saint Peter. Leo sold indulgences to raise money to build the Church. Martin Luther was enraged that the Church were selling indulgences, so he wrote out 95 theses about why selling indulgences was wrong. He copied, printed and spread these Theses all over Europe. This was a positive shaker, because the people began to question the Church's methods, which consequently resulted in the Church questioning themselves.
