Settling
The members of the Ralph Lane colony settled after a complicated and drawn out process of discovery and ordering more people to do things related to colonization for england. Eventually seven ships with men and supplies set out to colonize Roanoke Island which had been taken by earlier voyagers. -
Problems
After settling, the colonizers realized that they were screwed when winter arrived due to their lack of preparation in food. Even though they had native allies the harvest season was terrible resulting in even more food shortages. Rival tribes were planning on attacking but the commander Ralph Lane killed the rival leader in a stealth raid. -
Rescue
After they settlers realized they were screwed they sent back six ships to get supplies. Before they could get back however a english explorer, Sir Francis Drake found the desperate explorers and took them back to england before the six ships previously sent to get supplies return. However when they didn't find anyone there they left 15 men to hold the position for England when they left to see if they could get another expedition.
