Fair Labor Standards Act

The FLSA introduced the forty-hour work week,[3][4] established a national minimum wage,[5] guaranteed "time-and-a-half" for overtime in certain jobs,[6] and prohibited most employment of minors in "oppressive child labor". It was drafted by Senator Hugo Black. It effected 700,000 people just when it was made.

Equal Pay Act

It was aimed at abolishing wage disparity based on sex. It was signed into law by John F. Kennedy. It gave women the ability to be able to haev the same jobs as men.

Clean Water Act

Giverns water polution. Without it, water would be much filthier.

Endangered species act

Protects endangered species. Many more animals would be extinct without this.

Employee Retirement Income Security Act

Sets minimum standards for most voluntarily established pension and health plans in private industry to provide protection for individuals in these plans. It was enacted by the 93rd U.S. congress. It now makes sure that we have employment benefit plans.

Federal Privacy Act

Family and Medical Leave Act

It required covered employers to provide employees job-protected and unpaid leave for qualified medical and family reasons. It was signed by president Clinton. It now allows people to keep their job, even when they have to be out of work, for important reasons.

Employee Polygraph Protection
