Axis Powers Foremed
Germany, Italy, and Japan made a treaty called the tripartite pact. It kept the US out of war. If the US went to war on one axis country they wouldhave to declare war on all of them. -

Roosevelt serving his 3rd term as US President. he says that hitler is unnegotiable and cannot be tamed. Roosevelt said that Hitler must be stopped or the US will be at gun point. -

During march Roosevelt passed a law called the Lend-Lease Act which provided arms to any country whose defense was vital to the United States. -
Hitller's betrayal with Stalin
He broke the pact with Stalin and the Soviet Union. The US started to send leased supplies to the Soviet Union. Some americans disagreed with this But roosevelt and churchill agreed. -
Signing of Atlantic Charter
FDR and Churchill met on the USS Augusta to discuss the outcome of the war. They signed together, the Atlantic Charter which pledged cooperation and freedom of the seas, disarmament, collective security, self-determination and economic cooperation. It was also a joint declaration of war aims. The United States is now further choosing to support the allies instead of the axis powers. -
German's Attack on U.S.
German U-Boats sank 4 U.S. ships in the atlantic ocean. This makes a full out war inevidable. Germans were the first to fire the first bullet. -
Pearl Harbor
Japan attacked U.S. soil and and after that Roosevelt declared war on the axis powers. After this devistating attack, over 2000 people died, and 1000 injured. It was a surprise attack.
