    RPG was made by IBM and was created for business applications. RPG stands for Report Program Generator.
  • BASIC

    the acronym stands for Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code. it was developed by John G. Kemeny and Thomas E. Kurtz. It's purpose was to introduce normal people to computers and make it easier for people to use them.

    Pascal was developed by Niklaus Wirth. The Language was intended to encourage good programming practices. Pascal was named after the french mathematician, philosopher, and physicist Blaise Pascal.

    The developer was Dennis Ritchie. the purpose of this language was to help with system development work. It also produced code that ran as fast as code written in assembly language. It was called C because the developer wanted it to be better than B, and so he just called it C.

    SQL was created by Donald D. Chamberlin and Raymond F. Boyce. Was used to manage data held in a relational database management system (RDBMS). it was also used for stream processing in a relational data stream management (RDSMS). SQL stands for Structured Query Language.

    the developer was Jean Ichbiah. It's primary purpose was to. It was named after Ada Lovelace who was considered the first programmer.

    This code was designed to make creating large scale applications easier. It was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup. It was originally called C with classes but was changed to C++ due it being a pun.

    Python was developed by Guio Van Rossum. It was created to make programming easier by mostly emphasizing on readability and using fewer lines of code. it was named after something that was related to the TV show Monty Python's Flying Circus.

    Visual Basic was create by Microsoft. This was created to be a user-friendly language for beginners. They got the name from the ruby interface generator provided and from the Embedded BASIC engine.

    This language was developed by Borland. it was made to have database connectivity as a key feature for programmers . It was named that because it was supposed to reference the oracle of delphi in greek mythology.
  • Java

    Java was developed by James Gosling. it's purpose was to be written in one place and be accessible anywhere. Java got it's name from Java Coffee.
  • Javascript

    JavaScript was developed by Netscape Communications. Since Netscape created a web browser, they needed a language to go with it. It was named java script because they wanted to get attention based on java's popularity.
  • PHP

    PHP is a programming language that was used to make websites. it can also be embedded into HTML. It was developed by the PHP development team and created by Rasmus Lerdorf. PHP stands for Personal Home Page.
