Frst month
The placenta develops in the first month.The placenta is a round flat organ that transfers nutrients to the baby.A primitive face takes form with large circles for eyes. The mouth,lower jaw and throat are also developing.Blood cells are taking shape and soon circulation will happen.by the end of the first month your baby is around 1/4 inches long. -

second month
The baby's facial features begins to develop.The ears start as a little fold of skin on the side of th head.Tiny buds form that will eventually be arms and legs.Fingers,toes and eyes are also forming.The neural tube is well formed by now.The digestive tract and sensory organs begin to develop.Bones start to replace cartilage.The embryo starts to move but the mother doent feel it.At the end of the second month your baby is now a fetus.The fetus is about 1 inch long and weighs about 1/3 ounces. -
third month
In the third month your baby is fully formed.your baby has arms,legs,hands,fingers,feet and toes.The baby can open and close its fists and mouth.Fingernials and toenails are beginnging to develop and external ears are formed.The begginnings of teeth are forming.Your babys reproductive organs also develop though gender is hard to tell.By the end of the third month your baby is 3-4 inches long. -
Fourth month
in the fourth month your babys fingers and toes are well defined.The babys eyelids ,eyebrows,eyelashes,nails and hair are formed and teeth and bones are becoming denser.The nervous system is starting to function. The reproduction system is now fully developed so you can know tell waht the geneder is.by the end of the fourth month your baby is 6 inches long and weighs 4 ounces. -
Fifth month
hair is beginning to grow on the babys head and anugo a soft fine hair that grows all over your babys body starts to form.This hair protects the baby and is usually shed within the first month.Your baby's skin is covered with a whitish coating called vernix caseosa.This protects your baby against amniotic fuild.You may begin to feel your baby move this is called quickening.By the end of the fifth month your baby is 10 inches long and 1/2 pound. -
Sixth month
The baby's skin is a reddish color,wrinkled, and veins are visble.The eyelids begin to part and the eyes open.Your baby may respond to sounds by moving or increasing the pulse and you may notice jerking motions if the baby hiccups. If your baby is born prematurely your baby can survive after 23rd week. By the end of the sixth month the babys is 12 inches long and weighs 2 pounds. -
Seventh month
Fat begins to be deposited on your baby.Your babys hearing is fully developed and he or she changes position frequently nad responds to stimuli, including sound,pain,and light.At the ned of the seventh month your baby is 14 inches long and 2-4 pounds. -
Eight month
You may notice your baby kicking more.Your babys brain is developing rapidly at this time.she or he can see and hear.most internal systems are well developed , but the lungs may be still imature.by the end of the seventh month your baby is 18 inches long and 5 pounds. -
Ninth month
In the ninth month your baby is fully developed. Your babys reflexs are corrdinated so he or she can blink,close the eyes,turn the head,grasp firmly,and respond to sounds,touch and light.Your babys position changes to prepare itself for labor and delivery.The baby drops down to your pelvis and usually his or her head is facing the bith canal.By the end of the final month your baby is 18-20 inches long and 7 pounds or more.
