    George the third issued a proclamation that didn't allow settlement west of the Appalachian mountains, but the colonists didn't care and moved to the west anyways.

    Taxation without representation was a slogan from the revolutionary war which meant the colonists weren't allowed to choose representatives parliament, which passed the laws under which they were taxed.

    The sugar act of 1764 was a law that was passed to raise revenue from the American colonist in the 13 colonies. Many of the colonist were frustrated by this law.

    The intolerable acts was a reaction to the Boston Tea Party by Parliament who shut down the Boston Harbor. It also cause Britain to house soldiers in vacant private homes. The colonies reacted back by assembling the first continental congress.
