It affected the U.S. because our relationship with France just went down hill and Great Britain started to impress the U.S. sailors to go to the British navy.

    Alien and Sedition Acts
    The alien and sedition acts started in 1798. John Adams made a law that would strengthen our security so people could stop criticizing the president. The Alien and Sedition Acts dealt with immigrants and foreigners, the naturalization act required a foreigner to live in the United States for 14 years before becoming a citizen. This affected the U.S. because multiple states made their own laws to make an act of violation of freedom.

    The people who were involved in the war with Tripoli was Tripoli, Thomas Jefferson, and United States. The war was that so the United States could protect Europe from Pirate attacks. The only overall affect it had on United States is that it increased our navy size.

    Thomas Jefferson made a deal with France for the Louisiana land. Thomas Jefferson in fact did get the land and sent William Clark and Meriwether Lewis to go and explore the land that he just bought. The only thing that was an affect was that the U.S. land size doubled, but did cost 15 million.

    James Maddison went to war with Great Britain because he saw that they were stealing U.S. navy and forced them to join the Britain navy. The affect was that U.S. became more independent.

    The monarchies in Europe threatened to remove the government if they developed colonies. Monroe decided to make an issue that they were not able to develop colonies without permission. The affect on the U.S. was that we had to protect South America.

    John Quincy Adams made taxes for foreign goods more expensive for people to buy. The taxes were only to protect northern states from foreign competition. It affected the U.S. because the south had to pay more taxes. The south lost money because the foreign bought their raw materials.

    The Indian Tribes were forced off their land (which was their home) to go to a Indian Territory. Some of the U.S. troops decided to put them in military stock aids. Unfortantley, the consequence for the U.S. is that 4,000 Cherokees died from starvation.
