Piaget Timeline

  • Sensorimotor (Birth-2)

In this stage the child doesnt understand object permanence. Seperation anxiety is common. I started crawling at 6 months. I was very content and didn't get upset when my parents left the room or if I was with unknown people, therfore I didn't really get separation anxiety, although if I lost my blanket I would get really upset (object permanence).
  • Preoperational (2-6)

In this stage the child starts developing language and learning how to interact with their environment. Children have egocentrism and cant understand others point of view. I said my first words at 7 months, they were "hi kitty, kitty" and my parents have it on tape. I was very imagnative and played spy alot. I started reading at 4 1/2.
  • Concrete Operational

Children can now concetrate on one task and learn grouping. They also start to play more career like games (less fantasy) and accomodate. I had a playhouse and a kitchen and loved to play cook, grocery store, and house. I started reading chapter books in Kindergarten.
  • Formal Operational (12-adulthood)

Can now think in the abstract, multitask, and think big picture.
When I was 11 I won my first argument with my mom. I like to reason with people and make my point known and because of this my parents think I should be a lawyer.
