    A cajon is a box-shaped instrument originally from Peru. This instrument is played by slapping the front with the hands, fingers, brushes, mallets or sticks. That you believe it or not, that box was created by slaves in the 19th century. However, people still use it today.

    At the battle of Iquique, the countries fought for the control of the ocean. Sadly, on April 5, 1879 the Peruvians suffered the lost of their best war ship, the "Independencia". The Chile kept wining more territories like the Antofagasta port in Bolivia.However, the Peruvians weren't done yet, they attacked their enemies and won the battle.

    The Peru has participated in sixteen summer games and two winter games. Since 1900, they won one gold medal with Edwin Vasquez and 3 silver medals. Edwin was born on the 28 of July and died on the 9 March 1993, he was an olympic sport shooter from Peru. He won the gold medal in the 50 metres pistol event in the 1948 summer olympics. He won Peru's first and only olympic gold medal up to this date.

    The Peruvian national soccer team played 6 times in the FIFA world cups. Soccer is really popular in Peru, it was introduced by imigrants from Great Britain and people loved it so they made it their national sport. Peru hasn't won any world cups, but they won the Copa America once. The closest place to the gold medal was silver in 1982. Overall, the men's soccer team is 35th in FIFA ranking, but it isn't over yet.

    Paolo Guerrero
    Paolo is a footballer, he is known not only for his talent but also for his leadership as a captain of the Peruvian national team. On the 4 June 2016,Guerrero became the all-time leading goalscorer from Peru scoring against Haiti in a 1-0 win. He was also one of the 59 nominees of the 2015 FIFA Ballon d'or, becoming the first Peruvian to receive that recognition.

    Peru has a lot of earthquake because it is located in a seismic zone . The Arequipa earthquake was close to the ocean, for that reason it made a tsunami. The tsunami killed 24 people, the earthquake killed 74 and the Disaster injured 2,687 people. The earthquake lasted more than one minute, it was so long that northern Chile and western Bolivia felt it. The Arequipa was made by a rupture in the ground. The Arequipa earthquake produced damaging, shaking, liquefaction and tsunami inundation.
