    Saddam Hussein's last order was to withdraw his troops from Kuwait as soon as possible. A coalition aircraft bombed the retreating troops, which made the area known as "the Highway of Death".

    The president of the United States, George H.W Bush, declares a ceasefire, ending the war. Kuwait is liberated from Iraq.

    At the end of the war, a ceasefire plan was put into place and a meeting was held in Safwan, Iraq. The American troops were sent home as the war was over.
