    Karl Raimund Popper was born on the 28th day of July in the year 1902 in Vienna, Austria-Hungary. He was born to Simon Siegmund Carl Popper and Jenny Schiff.

    Einstein's influence

    Around the same time Karl was wrestling through Marx's thinking, Karl was also observing the work of Einstein and his theory of relativity. One of the many lectures the Karl heard when he would skip school to go to the university was that of Einstein's on the theory of relativity. This would go on to impact Karl Popper's views on epistemology and the difference between pseudoscience and hard science.
  • Popper Abandons Marx

    During the Battle of Horgasse, eight of Popper's fellow comrades in the group he was a part of were shot while they were unarmed. This turned Popper off of the Marxist Ideology entirely and turned him into one of its biggest critics. This shaped his view of scientific epistemology at an early age. He would later go on to observe Freud and criticize him as well among others of the same vein. Around this time Popper had been skipped high school to attend lectures at the local universities.

    Popper pursued and obtained his doctorate in psychology while at the Padagogiches Institute.
  • Popper's Ticket Away from Germany

    Since Karl Popper feared the encroaching Nazi influence, and the potential for his country to be annexed into Germany he had to find a way for him and his wife to escape. He wanted to look for an academic position in a country that tolerated those of Jewish descent. With time running short, and needing to get his first work published, he released a condensed version of his two volume work. The title of the condensed version was Logik der Forschung(The Logic of Scientific Discovery).

    Post-war Popper continued his work and writing, with his views on scientific thought and learning coming to a matured state in one of his most classic books on the subject, the two-volume "The Logic of Scientific Discovery."

    Popper succumbed to complications brought on by cancer in the year 1994 at the age of 92 in London, England, UK.
