  • The Birth of A Wild Mind

    Paul Feyerabend, born in Vienna, Austria was conceived by a civil servant and seamstress who raised their son through the hardships cause by the First World War, but despite this Feyerabend found excitement in literature once he began school. As he grew his thirst for knowledge had grown exponentially that by the time he graduated he knew more about math and physics than his teachers did.

    War and Education

    After graduating Feyerabend was drafted into Arbeitsdienst and soon after basic training and chose to start his education as an officer at Wehrmacht’s Pioneer Corps and eventually was medically discharged. After the war he eventually returned to Vienna to attend university where he invaded philosophy.   • Member of the Kraft Circle

    Founded in 1949 by Paul Feyerabend the Kraft Circle at the University of Vienna which mostly consisted of students from the academic fields of science and engineering who had an interest in philosophy. However, this group did not last very long since the group decided to discontinue their regular meets and disbanded in the later years of 1952/1953.

  • Published Against Method

    Published Against Method
    Originally this controversial literature was supposed to be named For and Against Method and authored by both Paul Feyerabend and Irme Lakatos presenting two opposing points of views. Feyerabend‘s portion being Against Method whereas, Lakatos’s presents his views For Method. Unfortunately, Lakatos passed away in 1974 before he could write his portion of the book, so Feyerabend decided to publish his portion Against Method In 1975.

    Killing Time (The Struggle of Depression)
    In Paul Feyerabend’s biography Killing Time he reveals that he was a in constant battle with depression and states that everyday he would wake up and wonder if he would be free from the clutch of the beast for the day or if she would sink her teeth. He would begin his day by conducting hygiene, dress, eat while watching a show he really had no interest for and after he would prepare to leave his abode for the day there she was whispering “Did you think you could leave without me?”
  • Death of An Entertainer

    Paul Feyerabend lived out the rest of his day in Genolier, Switzerland where he developed and began to suffer from a brain tumor that induced the rapid decline of his health which led to his admission into a clinic in Genolier, but the battle was a short one because soon after Feyerabend peacefully passed away at the age of 70.
