Prince Henry of portugal sent ships to explore the west coast of africa. These voyages initiated the age of discovery a time where eurapeans sailed around the world. He got his name henry the navigator because he spondered so many voyages. -

The Asante emerged ehich is now present day Ghana. In the late 1600s Osei Tutu won control of the trading city Kumasi. From that he conquered the Asanti kingdom. He believe that the people in this kingdom were linked by spiritual bonds . This stredegy paid off in the end when they defeated there neighboring enemy Denkyera. -
