    I think Pablo Escobar is iconic because he changes the world. He gave lots of his (drug) money to the local communities for clinics, schools, hospitals, things of that sort. He also enforced his own version of the law in keeping away other criminals. Doing things like this earned him the nickname Robin Hood.
