Obsolete Objects

  • incandescent light bulb

    Incandescent light bulbs are slowly too becoming obsolete. LED lights are taking over because they're much more efficient than incandescent.
  • rotary phones

    Rotary phones became obsolete when the first push button phones were released in the 1970's.
  • wired headphones

    Although people still use them, bluetooth headphones are on the rise. Soon enough wired headphones will be "vintage".
  • casette tapes

    By 2001 cassette tapes weren't making up much of how music was heard.
  • floppy disk

    Even though they were used by many, by 90's they were beginning to die out. They stopped being produced in 2011.
  • flip phones

    By mid 2000's they began to be obsolete because it was the start of mobile phones.
  • VHS machines

    VHS machines became obsolete in the early 2000's. Companies began to discontinue them in 2006 and by 2008 most were done making them.
  • walkman

    The Walkman began to become obsolete in 2001 when the original iPod was released. They stopped being produced in 2010.
  • blackberry

    blackberry phones are beginning to become obsolete as of lately. They could not keep up to competition like Apple or Samsung with the touch screen technology and are now discontinuing then.
  • CD's

    CD's became obsolete mid 2010's because of music being able to be listened to and bought online.
