New Kid

  • Premise

    The baseball field and home is all where Brock enjoys to be coming into the brand new neighborhood. After meeting a so called friend, named Nagel, he finds out about the wrong side of the street. They end up throwing rocks at the gym teacher, also travel team coach's house. Knowing that Coach's team lost every game last year can he help them out, or will it just become another disaster.
  • Once Again

    Tommy Rust, star player on the team, was back up to the plate in the bottom of the inning to win the championship. Everybody knew Tommy was capable of hitting a home run, knowing he hit one in the bottom of the third to tie it. But little did they know what was going on behind the scenes with his father's job. On a 3-2 count Tommy was thrown a curveball, CRASH! It was foul. Tommy backs up ready for the next pitch, until his father pulls off the field saying they had to go immediatly.
  • Coach Hudgens

    After the end of the school day and being in the late evening, Nagel brings Brock onto a creepylittle tour around the neighborhood. At the end of the tour Nagel shows Brock Coach Hudgen's house, saying it is being haunted at night by Hudgens himself. Nagel decides they should prank him instead of just passing by, and Brock agrees after a long argument. They decide to throw rocks at his house, Nagel at the window and Brock at the pipe. They do it, and Brock gets caught red handed.
  • First Day In Town

    Hoping school would go fine for him, Brock walks a seventeen minute walk all the way to school. Starting up in a brand new school is tough and it was for Brock. During gym class the bully of the school, Nagel, come out of nowhwere a knocks Brock down to floor in a full out fist fight. But, the gym teacher, Coach Hudgens, stops them immediatly and sends them to the office. Nagel later tells Brock that was just a test to see if he was tough enough. And he was to become a pal with ol' Nagel.
  • Life or Death

    The next day at school Coach Hudgens pulls Brock outside instead of going to gym class. As they are going outside Brock is pleading him not to call the police. As soon as they get outside Brock notices a 3-by-1 rectangle on the wall. They stop, and Hudgens says "Hit the box three times in a row, and we are even, no penalty." Brock gulps and throws a rock and nails it inside of the rectangle. And again, and agian. They were even.
  • The Talk

    THe talk started, slow and steady, that is until Brock's father started talking about Hudgen's drunk problem. He told Hudgens that he would let Brock play for his team only if he told him where he was at all times and he would not drink during tournaments. Hudgens ageed and Brock was now on the team once and for all. After the talk Brock decided that he would like to practice with Hudgens one-one-one for the last time before their first practice as a whole team.
  • Travel Team?

    As everyone was leaving for lunch after gym class Hudgens stops Brock short and asks him if he would like to be a pitcher for his travel team, the Liverpool Elite. Brock stumbles and tells him he needs to ask his father, which is over protective. Coach uderstands and saya he can wait as long as he must to get him onto the team.
  • The Return

    Brock later that night invites his new found friend, Nagel, over to his house to hang out, knowing his father won't be home. That is until Brock hears the garage dor opening and he quickly brings Nagel outside for him to hide in the bushes and get as far away as possible. When Brock's dad come inside he notices the worried look on Brock's face. And Brock asks immediatly if he could be on the travel team and his father right after says, "No."
  • Practice Makes Perfect

    After Brock told Hudgens that his father told him he couldn't play, Hudgens did not really care, but only told him to just keep practicing. Hudgens said if Brock got good enough his father would let him play for the travel team ofr sure. So, they practiced and practiced and practiced until Brock got super good and Coach felt it was time to talk one-on-one with Brock's father.
  • The Big Day

    The big day has finally arrived, Brock's first game with his new team, the Liverpool Elite. To make this day any better Brock was the starting pitcher for the Elite. But, the game couldn't have gone any worse. In the first two innings Brcok led ups more the 5 runs and he is thinking about quiting because he cannot get his mind off that game.
  • Overall

    Overall
    I believe this book is a very good book for people that are interested into reading sports. Also, if they ever came out with another book leading off fom the end or a movie about the book I would totally read and watch that. Overall, this book, in my opinion, is amazing and you should read it if you are interested in sports.
