Mowat is suddenly assigned to a wolf project surrounding wolves and caribou -

He travels to Churchill
He travels to Churchill to then continue on to another location to study the wovles. -

He arrives at the wolves turrain
He arrives to meet the wolves -

He meets Mike and his finds his cabin
He meets mike by mistaking his dogs for wolves. He then finds his cabin and secures a place to live. He then tells mike about different things and scares him off by mike thinkingg that Mowat is a threat and may potentially want to kill him. -

He finds and encounters the wolves and sets up camp by the wolves.
He finds the wolves and encounters them. He decides to set up camp to further observe the wolves. -

Ootek hears the wolves
Ootek hears the wolves and claim that he can hear them. He listens to them and says that wolves say that the caribou are migrating for the winter. -

He observes the wolves and find out that the eat things other than caribou
He finds that during the winter the wolves find other food sources. -

Mowat meets Ootek and learns about his abilities to supposedly speek to the wolves. -

He finds that the wolves are actually eating mice
Mowat finds that the wolves for the winter were actually eating mice and in order to conduct an expiriment to determine if it was a good protein source and so he introduced it into his own diet and determined that it was. -

The wolves move for the summer because their den was too small for the wolf pups and they moved into the forest for the summer -

Mowat and Ootek go to surrounding areas
Mowat and Ootek go to surrounding areas to learn more about the wolves from other people -

Mowat and the wolve population
Mowat finds that there are actually around 3000 wolves in the area and that he was only observing a tiny fraction of them -

Caribou
Mowat asks Ootek why the wolves don't go for the caribou, and Ootek replies that they know they can't outrun a caribou. They usually only go for weak ones or young ones in a strong herd where natural selection hasn't played out yet. -

Wolf Killing
Mowat is explained to that killing of a wolve is a sport and the wolves will soon have to move south due to food. -

Ootek sees a plane
Ootek bursts into the cabin one day and tells Mowat that he saw a plane -

Police
Police are out for Mowat but they cant find him because they don't have any infromation on where he is. -

He finds angeline and pups in old den.
Mowat finds Angeline and her pups in the old den while George howls off in the distance to mourn a lost home
