    Empodocles purposed that the world was made up of four things,
    1.) Earth
    2.) Water
    3.) Air
    4.) Fire
    He thought that to create everything like different animals and what not they woud all just have different amounts of the four elements.

    Democritus
    Year 500 BCE
    The ancient greek Democritus thoughts on the atom were that,
    1.) All matter is composed of atoms and they are too small to see and cant be split up any farther than each atom.
    2.) Inbetween each atom is empty space.
    3.) Atoms are solids.
    4.) Atoms are just a solid shape.
    5.) Atoms are all different sizes, shapes, weights etc.

    Aristotle

    Aristotle
    350 BCE
    Once Democritus died Aristotle and Socrates dumped the atomiic model and continued on with the four element mode. This model was accepted and thought to be correct for 2000 years. Aristotle also denies space of the void, he thought that empty space is impossible.
  • Alchemists

    Alchemists
    Alchemists performed hands on expirements for the first time. They were not just philosiphers but also mystic, magician, and chemists. Alchemy is now a tradition practiced in a few countrys such as Europe Eygept and Asia.
    They believed three things.
    1.) They believed elements could be changed into other elements.
    2.) The could find a substance to give them eternal life.
    3.) They believed they could produce a sustance that would dissolve all other substances.
