The Birth of The United States
Christopher Columbus discovered America in 1492. In 1607 the first settlement happens in Jamestown, Virginia. The thirteen colonies won the Revolutionary War against Britain in 1770 and in 1776 the Declaration of Independence is signed and America is no longer part of the British empire. -
The Birth of Mongolia
In 206 BC a man named Modun united the people and created Mongolia. The first state was called Hunnu. Mongolia conquered China and Russia and moved into Europe. However Mongol rule was overthrown in China and Mongolia split into two, China dominating them both. In 1911 a revolution broke out in China which gave Mongolia the chance to regain it's independence. They finally became an independent country on July 11, 1921 and have an embargo with China. -

the US established relations with Mongolia in 1987. Mongolia refers to the US as their "Most important third neighbor." The United States have sought to expand relations in Mongolia, mainly in cultural and economic fields. -

The government of Mongolia committed $600,000 in 2011 to co-fund the Fulbright program to aid in its expansion, and each year approximately 30 Mongolians study in the United States under that program. Each year approximately 80 Mongolians travel to the United States for educational, professional, and cultural exchange programs sponsored by the U.S. government. In addition, over 1,300 Mongolian students study at American colleges and universities, some via private scholarships. -
