In late 1906, Gandhi began his peaceful revolution. He said he would go to jail or even die before going with anti-Asian law. -

Because he was telling the Indians to boycott British goods, Gandhi was put in jail. He was released 1924. -
Gandhi Gets Imprisoned For A Second Time
In 1930, in protest of a salt tax, he led the Indians on a 200 mile march to the sea to collect their own salt. Again he was jailed for this. -
Retireing
Gandhi retired as head of the party. He said this, but he remained its actual leader. -
Gandhi Gets Jailed A Third Time
During World War II, Gandhi demanded that the price for India fighting the war with Britain was freedom. He was jailed again for this. He was released at 1944 -
India Is Freed
In 1947, Gandhi is victorious when India gains independance from Britain. The country later split into two countries, India and Pakistan. -
Death
When Gandhi was on his way to prayer in Delhi, he was killed by a Hindu. He was maddened by the Mahatma's efforts to reconcile Hindus and Muslims. -
Ceremony
Nearly 50 years after his assassination, the ashes of Gandhi were spread in the Ganges River. The ceremony was performed in Mallahabad, India.
