    Piazza Fontana Bombing
    On December 12, 1969 an bomb exploded in the headquarters of Banca Nazionale dell' Agricoltura killing 17 people and left 88 wounded. In the same afternoon, 3 more bombs were detonated in the same region and another was found unexploded. Over 80 arrests were made, suspect Giuseppe Pinelli, an anarchist died after falling from the fourth floor window. There was supposed to be a senior officer from Rome to Milan to prevent the bombing but decided to send a different officer from Padua.
  • Cinema Rex Fire in Iran

    Cinema Rex Fire in Iran
    On August 19th 1978, the Cinema Rex fire was ablaze killing over 470 individuals . The government of Iran ruled Islamic militants set the fire, however the anti- Shah protesters believed otherwise and blamed the intelligence service of the nation. Later it was determined that the Islamic militants set the Cinema Rex on fire. The revolutionaries alleged that the SAVAK agents were in the pursuit of the individuals who ran the movie theatre. This incident continued to loom over the minds of many.

    World Trade Center Bombed (continued)
    After a massive investigation,the FBI convicted Mohammed Salameh, Ahmad Ajaj, Nidal Ayyad and Mahmoud Abouhalima, who were sentenced a life in prison.The mastermind of the attack was Ramzi Ahmed Yousef, who stayed at large for two years until he was found and arrested in Pakistan. The World Trade Center bombing was motivated by the desire of mass murder, to kill as many civilians as possible.

    World Trade Center Bombed
    On February 26th at 12:18 p.m a bomb explodes in the parking garage of the World Trade Center. This explosive left a crater 60 feet wide causing the collaspe of severeal steel-reinforce concrete floors in the vicinity. Although this terrorist bomb failed the cause critical damage to the buildings, it killed six innocent civilians and injured over a 1,000 people.

    AMIA Attack in Argentina
    On the 18th of July 1994 a suicide bomber drove a van bomb loaded with ammonium nitrate fertilizer and fuel oil explosive mixture into the Jewish Community Center building. This occurred in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the government has held Hezbollah and Iran responsible of the events. It is said that Argentina had been a target by Iran after Buenos Aires’ decision to suspend a nuclear technology transfer contract to Tehran.

    This resulted in 86 deaths and the bomb destroyed the exposed five story bearing walls which led to a progressive failure of floor slabs and the collapse of the building.
  • U.S Embassy Bombings

    U.S Embassy Bombings
    On August 7th 1998, suicide bombers in trucks loaded with explosives parked outside the embassies, almost simultaneously detonated with a bomb. This occurred in Nairobi, Kenya and was believed to have been revenge for American involvement in the extradition and the alleged torture. This incident caused the death of 200 and demolished a five story office sending the building crashing on the embassy next door. The attack was either planned by Egyptian Islamic Jihad or Osama bin Laden.
  • Beslan School Siege

    Beslan School Siege
    From September 1st-3rd, 2004, armed Chechen rebels stormed into the school and took more than 1,000 hostages. Herded into a gymnasium, the attackers were rigged with explosives. The hostages were refused water or food and after two days pass, they were resorted to drinking urine. The morning of September 3rd, the explosions inside the school prompted Russian special forces to enter the building. The majority of the hostages were killed by the explosions or in gunfire.

    Hundreds of the survivors were wounded and many suffered PTSD. This was a result in the motive because of a demand of a full Russian troop withdrawal from Chechnya and recognition of Chechen independence. This resulted in the death of over 330 people and an incinerated school.

    Sydney Hostage Taking
    From December 15-16th, 2014, Man Horan Monis bursted into a Sydney chocolate shop, and took hostages in a standoff that lasted more than 16 hours. This occurred in Martin Place, Sydney, Australia and resulted in three deaths. The gunman, Monis motives was his dissatisfaction with the legal decisions. He embraced a radical Sunni theology and was infatuated with extremism and had a mental instability.

    Tunisia Beach Resort Attack
    On June 27th 2015, at least 37 people including tourists were killed in a hotel attack in a coastal city of Sousse. A gunman disguses as a tourist opened fire at a beach hotel with a weapon hidden in a umbrella. British, German, and Belgian tourists were among the dead, the gunman was shot dead by police. Tunisia has been hailed as a model of democratic transition since it's 2011 uprising and has escaped thw worst of region's violence.
