    Countries continued to be greedy and non-negotionable, which caused Nationalism to rise. Serbia and Austria wanted freedom, whereas France wanted Lorraine back from Germany. This event caused nations to gain false hope and aggresiveness to win the war.

    Alliances was something that caused a great impact in World War 1. During 1914, six countries decided to divide into two conflicting Alliances. Germany and Austria built up their bond by by creating the Triple Alliance with Italy. With all three countries supporting each other, there's a very slight chance they will be attacked by France.

    Archduke Franz Ferdinand Assassinated
    Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were murdered in Sarejevo, Bosnia by a Serbian nationalist. The death of Ferdinand set off a quick series of events. Austria accused the Seberian government for the attack. Austro- Hungarian announced war because they recieve assurance from Wilhelm that Germany would support their reasoning for the declaration.

    Germany gave Austria-Hungray a blank check of assurance because Germany was also fed with Serbia. Without the support of Germany, the Balkans probably would have stayed localized. If it was not for Germany teaming up Austria-Hungray, they would have lost the war; even though they also had back up from Rusia, they still needed Germany's help.

    The assassination of Ferdinad was what really aggravated the war to start. World War 1 caused a massacre and destruction. Germanay, Austria-Hungray, Bulgaria, and Ottoman Empire battled the Allied powers which were Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Japan and the United States. By the time the Allied powers claimed victory, more than 16 billion soldiers and citizens were dead.

    The Sinking of the Lusitania Ship
    A German submarine torpedoed at the Britian ocean liner, Lusitania. The vessels sank in the Celtic Sea within 20 minutes causing about 1,200 people to drown, including Americans. This attack was arosed by the indigation in the Unites States, but the Germany decided to defend the action. German mimes have damaged and or sank many U.S ships that were traveling to Britain. During Feburary of 1915, Germans declared submarine warfare in the water surrounded by Britan.

    Zimmerman Telegram
    Zimmerman had a encrypted message which was supposed to be for Eckardt, the ambassador of Mexico, but British code breakers intercepted it. This message basically had rules which the ambassdor had to follow such as Eckardt had to approach Mexico's President with an offer to forge a secret wartime alliance. By late Feburary of 1917, the British cryptographic office decoded the Zimmerman Telegram and gave it over to the United States.

    The number of military and civilan casualties was around 40 million. 20 million deaths occured during the war as well as 21 million wounded. About 9.7 million soldiers were killed and about 10 million civilans were hurt. The Allies lost around 5.7 million soldiers and the Central powers lost about 4 million. Many deaths were caused by accidents and diseases.

    Germany Resumes Submarine Warfare
    Germany reports the renewal of a submarine warfare in the Alantic and Germans submarines that are torpedoe - armed prepare for attacks; they will attack anybody they see out in the water. The Germans main weapon was their U-boat, it held 12 torpedoes and was able to travel under water for two hours at a time. During the first few years of World War 1, the U-boats were deffinently a harm on the Allied shipping.

    President Woodrow Wilson requested a declaration of war against Germany. His attempts to enice the war failed, the U.S senate voted in support of the measure to declare war on Germany. Wilson also requested for authority to arm U.S merchant ships with equipment.

    The Treaty of Versailles had a terrible affect on the Germans. Germany was blamed for the entire war and they were forced to pay compensation to the Allies. Because of the war guilt clause, Germany had to accept responsibilty for the war, which caused them to lose about 10% of land. The terms of the treaty had very dramatic consequences and Germany refused to sign the treaty, instead they decided to scuttle the fleet in protest.

When World War 1 ended, Hitler was an emotional disaster because it brought threat to him to live safely due to the loss of the war. His only choice was to return to a civilian life which resulted to no career prospects.

    Dawes Plan and Young Plan
    Issues of debt repayment and reparations caused trouble between the Allies and Germany; Dawes and Young Plan offered a soultion to those problems. The Dawes plan stated that Germany's annual reparation payments would be reduced as the economy improved; however, the full amount to be paid was left undetermined. Young's plan called for the establishment of a Bank for the International Settlements, which is designed to facilitate the payment of reparations.

    Billions of dollars were lost due to Black Tuesday which caused America and the rest of industrialized world to go into the Great Depression. This was considered an economic downturn in the histroy of the western part of the world. President Franklin D. Roosevelt deffenitly helped lessen the worst effect the Great Depression had but the economy wasn't completey fixed until WW2 revitalized American history
