Miley teamed up with Vanity Fair for a photoshoot only to find out there would be more to it than just posing in pictures. Miley posed topless for the magazine to create "artistic" and "tasteful" photos. When asked about being topless Miley says, "No, I mean I had a big blanket on. And I thought, this looks pretty, and really natural. I think it’s really artsy" (Cyrus). The photos created a controversial mess with Disney and media. -

Miley's Big Change
When Miley decided to cut her hair, she received tons of negative feedback from media as well as fans. Although many had a lot of negative things say about Miley's new hair, Ellen Degeneres had a different approach. She states that it is no one's business what Miley wants to do with her hair and "a lot of women don't cut their hair short, so it's a big deal" (Degeneres). By Miley making this move, she shows the media that it's ok to be different and you should be able to make your own decisions. -

Miley has made her way on a Marc Jacobs advertisment for his spring 2014 campaign. Miley is seen wearing dark gothic-like clothing of the higher end brand. "We wanted this beach with the girls kind of sulky and broody, and we thought it would be cool if it was Miley with what could be two friends, feeling distant and quite dark" (Jacobs). The pictures shined a light on Miley's serious side. -
Miley goes Viva Glam with Mac Cosmetics
Miley Cyrus teams up with Mac Cosmetic's campaign "Viva Glam" which raises money to fight against HIV/AIDS globally. Cyrus tweets out to fans to "look for my lipstick in early 2015" (Cyrus). Like many other celebrities from Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Fergie, and so on, it is a very big accomplishment to be the face of such an important campaign.
